Implementation of Conservation-Restoration Work on Throne Icons from the Church of St. Salvation in Skopje

NI Conservation Centre Skopje, within the regular annual program, by the end of September completed the implementation of conservation-restoration works on the throne icons from the church of St. Salvation in Skopje. The last of the ten fully conserved throne icons and the northern door of the iconostasis have been installed. This is the icon "Jesus Christ Pantocrator", which due to the presence of multi-layered painting dating from different time periods, somewhat complicated and prolonged the conservation procedure. The work team consisting of: Petar Gerasimov, advisor conservator, team leader; M.A. Labin Tomovski, advisor conservator, member and M.A. Liljana Kekenovska, senior conservator, member, successfully completed the works on direct protection of this phase.
